Baby in your room

So the nurses in the hospital, the neonatologist, AND our pediatrician all said they just changed the "rule" recently to that baby should stay in Mom (and Dad's) bedroom until age 1. Our daughter was in her crib in her own room at 4 months which is fast approaching for our new little babe. I'd love to transition him in a couple weeks, as well, but after being told not to, I just can't. Anyone else told that new guideline? I guess he'll be in his rock and play until he's too big and then we'll set up a pack n play until he's one and then finnnnnally move him to the nursery. Such a shame because I'm in love with his nursery and spent months and a lot of money decorating! ?
