My MIL never calls to check on my son. It honestly doesn't matter to me because he has more than enough people in his life who love him, and missing the attention of one person is not a make or break type thing. However...one thing that DOES annoy the sh*t out of me is that she will call or text my husband, and ask about the damn DOG! No questions about her ONLY GRANDCHILD or me (although that's not shocking because she has issues with me in her own imagination) but about the dog and his well being. Like how is he doing, does he miss me, when can I come see him/take him for the weekend. It irks my entire soul, and not just because it'd dumb as hell, but because I know that it hurts my husband. Oh and not to mention that she goes months at a time without talking to us, and THAT is how she chooses to engage us. Girl Bye! Ugh. She needs to get her entire life.
