Mold and washing machines...

Just thought I’d let you ladies know... maybe this will help a mama out there. I thought only front load washing machines run the risk of growing mold but noooope.... I have a top load machine with a fabric softener dispenser built into the agitator... I rarely use the dispenser so I never thought to take it apart and deep clean it... well I did last night and found BLACK MOLD growing inside of it ? DD1 and I have asthma and we have a 3 month old... this whole time, moldy water has been flowing into our clothes every time we wash :( so check those dispensers ladies... I’ve been deep cleaning the machine like crazy all day... yuck :(
