Sleep training night 1 went horrible ?

Last week we hired a sleep consultant and last night was my son's first night of sleep training and maaaaan was it rough on all of us? He's used to sleeping in bed with me and although I love it, dh does not like sleeping on the couch so I blame him for all of this ?
