New carpet fumes?

Had anyone else heard that new carpet fumes can be dangerous? We just laid new carpet in our nursery and I'm concerned about the fumes. The door is closed and I really didn't help lay it I just watched.

How often

Do you ladies clean your carpets? I HATE carpet it gives me anxiety but we rent right now so there's nothing I can do about it. I know over cleaning it is bad and can cause issues. I ran the carpet cleaner over them 3 months ago and I'm ready to do again. I'm literally losing sleep because I feel like the carpets need cleaned again.
