Question about mama cloth after birth?

I'm a little worried about wearing pads after the baby comes. I have been trying panty liners for discharge during pregnancy and every time I wear one I develop very irritated skin (friction? Allergy? I don't know). I am using unscented liners. I've pretty much given up so what about after birth when I am bleeding? I don't think I can wear pads without serious irritation. Would mama cloth work? Or are there some brands out there that might work? I'm not sure I am 100% sold on momma cloth but I don't know what I'm going to do.
