35 WEEK APPT. BED REST FOR 5 WEEKS?
So...I had my 35 week appt and thank God my husband came bc I could barely walk or get on the scale by myself without crying. My blood pressure was so high and my whole body was shaking bc of the excruciating pain that I've been in for the past 2 weeks. Everyone has been telling me that the pelvic pain and pressure that I've been feeling is normal but I knew something was wrong. I can literally barely walk bc the pain is so wrenching. I cannot put my underwear or socks on and turning in bed every time I am in screaming pain and my hips pop. I can't cross my legs, lift one leg, or stand with them all the way together. I was finally diagnosed with severe SPD. Apparently my hips could potentially gape apart if I don't stay on BED REST for the next 5 weeks. I am so emotional bc of the pain and lack of sleep. I feel like no one understands what I'm going through. I don't see how I am going to last 5 more weeks like this. The cartilage that connects my symphysis pubis bone may be completely gone so my hips and ligaments are way too loose and not aligned properly. The pain in my butt hips and vagina is so bad that I feel like something is broken down there. Thank God I don't have a huge baby!! Anyway ... I was crying to my dr. Bc I have been waiting for an answer for weeks. Her and my husband had to help get me on the table to check baby's heartbeat. She could see how bad I was hurting.. I asked her what I can do and I was so disappointed with her response.. she said I can take Tylenol up to 4000 mgs a day which I won't do bc it doesn't help me, or get a belly band. I'm like that's it ?? I can't survive like this!!! I did extensive research on severe spd and many women are in so much pain that they are referred to a physio therapist and a chiropractor. Many women are put in crutches or wheel chairs until they give birth to prevent the hips from separating completely. She didn't sound like she knew about SPD too much or the proper treatment that is necessary to help with the joints, and ligaments, & hips before giving birth. I read that if you have severe SPD that you should not deliver on your back bc it can cause long term pelvic damage. Idk why I'm rambling on. I just feel alone and scared. I feel on my own. Idk what to do from here on out. Also my husband is leaving for a business trip for three days on Thursday so I'm emotional bc he helps me with everything and I'll be alone. Should I fend for myself or just listen to my doctors options for treatment ? Thanks for listening ladies. You all have been so supportive and wonderful you really don't even know . You are all helping me get through this pregnancy and keep my sanity !!!
