Bad actions in front of child

So my stepson which is 12 got on facebook and totally disrespected this lil girl. He called her a b**** and a hoe. So i set him and my nephew down which is 15 and discussed with them how to treat a woman and what is not acceptable at all. Now my husband tells his son how embarresing that is and just puts him down big time just really talked down to him. Now dont get me wrong i wanted to slap his taste buds out his mouth but all i did was make him apologize to the little girl. So once the kids went upstairs i told my husband that he didnt have any room to discpline his son, only because thats what he does in front of his son. He calls his sons mother and his other bm all kind of bi**hes and h*es and f*8k you, while his son is sitting right there in the other room. And he would fight them, and he tried to fight me one time all while his son was right there. Now am i wrong or what, i feel like his son is only doing what he sees him doing basiclly he is teaching him to act that way. Now my husband mad saying dont compare what he do with what a child do. I feel like it starts in the home if he see u do it then he thinks its ok. Sorry so long...
