Causes of high bp

My head has been hurting all day. I worked 10 hours and have been drinking plenty of water and even taking Tylenol to help and it hasn't helped so finally when I got off work to pick up my kids my mom checked my blood pressure and it was 146/83 my pulse was 92. Now for me that's high because I usually range about 112/60 no higher than 120. What can cause it to be high? I'm never had my blood pressure be high even with out being pregnant with my last pregnancy it would get low at times, but that was because I was working as a CNA and it would drop due to not drinking enough and being hungry but this is a first it's been high. my DH is at work and wants me to go to the ER but I don't think I should rush to the ER for it being high one time. Plus I would have to bring my kids. what do you ladies think?
