Blood pressure meds safe??

Mamas who have had to take blood pressure medication during pregnancy, do you ever worry about how safe it is for baby? I was put on bp meds starting today until I deliver, I'm 34 weeks now. I know the doctors wouldn't prescribe anything that would be out right dangerous, but I still worry. I read that a side effect of the meds is slowed heart rate. And it just got me thinking, couldn't it affect baby's heart rate as well then? Just need some encouragement i guess! Im so worried about baby girl.
