Hi ladies- my dr recent diagnosed me with gestational diabetes. I've met with a diabetic nurse and she's had me testing my bsl 4x daily. I hate needles, so it's been hard on me. The problem is my fasting sugars are always high, over 100. She's suggesting insulin; I'm hesitant. On a selfish level, I'm scared of needles. But also, I've only met with the nurse twice over a week and I feel like she's jumping to the insulin quickly. Does anyone know if there are oral medication alternatives? I meet with my mfm and OBGYN in two weeks.
