My son always played with my hair while nursing, he still holds it for comfort or even plays with his own when he's sleepy. I assume that sort of thing will last a couple years.
I was recently wondering this too. I stopped nursing around 16/17 months as well. My son is now 2 1/2 and wants to put his hands on my cleavage at bedtime, nap time, and when he first wakes up. I'm not bothered by it at all, just more curious about how common it is, how long it lasts, etc.
I don't mind at all, but sometimes he tries to do it when I'm pumping and holding the twins, so I tell him not right now and he gets so upset I feel bad.
Was going to ask about this too!!! We stopped in September, my sin is three now and still likes to "hold" "milkies", he even smells and kisses and cuddles them sometimes (I don't produce any)! Thing is, I actually find it hard work, mainly because he twists the nipple. He knows not to do it but I have to remind him and it's draining tbh..
That's one thing I don't let him do, and he knows he can't touch my nipples. Luckily he doesn't try anymore. I pump 5 to 8 times a day so it hurts if he tries to touch them.
It's hard to tell them no with that because it's something that was natural to them. I think it has helped with my son because he sees me pumping and he knows milk is for his sisters so he thinks they aren't for him.

We stopped at 14 months and William still does it and he's 20 months now.

From what I've read, it can last years!

My kid is almost 3 yrs and we stopped nursing very early on. She still does this as well...

We've always had this rule but when I stopped nursing I let it go a little, and now it's a constant battle.. :((( I need to be more consistent!
