Fantasy-
David Eddings - The Belgariad and Mallorean series
The Wheel of Time - Robert Jordan
Crime-
Kathy Reichs
Tony Hillerman
Horror-
Owl Goingback
Tamara Thorne
Heather Graham
I also love the book the Poisonwood Bible, I can't remember the author's name.
Depends what you are into. I personally like the watersong series and the trylle series by Amanda Hocking.
Watersong series: this girl is really big into swimming and these sirens move into her town and eventually change her. Along with a little romance.
Trylle series: This girl grew up in this home where her mother always said she wasn't her child, and tried to kill her. Her and her brother went live with their aunt she meets this boy and finds out she is a changeling. It a good series, their is magic and a love triangle. It's a good read.
Amanda Hockings is a great author
What genre do you like? I really liked Me Before You by Jojo Moyes... it's about a girl that gets a job as a caretaker for a man in a wheelchair. The movie will be coming out at some point.
I also love The Breathing Series by Rebecca Donovan. It's a very emotional series. Will change your life. It's about a girl named Emma and circumstances lead to her living with her aunt and uncle. Her aunt is abusive. Highly recommend it though.
The Lonely by Tara Brown is a pretty good mind f***. I don't even know how to describe it.
Pretty much anything by Colleen Hoover... Ugly Love or Confess would be my favorites. Or Hopeless... or Losing Hope...
I could go on for days. If you need more, let me know :)
I don't know if I could pick just one. Growing up loved anything by roald dahl but especially loved the BFG and still do to this day.
Loved Hemingway's "a farewell to arms" and "a separate peace" by John knowles. Also love "the lovely bones" by Alice Sebold (could be a trigger warning I guess)...just recently finished "the shack" by William P young and thought it was absolutely wonderful. Came at a good time in my life though.
OH and I really loved "water for elephants" by Sara gruen. Couldn't put it down. If you like sarcasm then "let's explore diabetes with owls" by David sedaris is great!!
I like to read...lol
Pride and prejudice... But everyone knows that lol so another is a teen novel called China Garden
This girl moves back to her moms old town after her mom left as a 20ish year old. Her grandpa is dying and insisted the mom come back. The girl starts seeing this guy who talks about destiny and that they were meant for each other. There's magic, betrayal, love, and mystery. A good read ?
Leaving time by Jodi Picoult.
All of her books are great but this one is my favourite. A woman disappears after an accident at an elephant sanctuary (she studies them) leaving behind her husband who is in a mental institution and a now 12 year old daughter who is searching for her mother. The daughter doesn't believe the mother would ever leave her and tries to reopen the case to figure out what actually happened that night with help from two friends.
A very intriguing book - every chapter is from a different characters perspective and the twist at the end is mind blowing once all of the pieces are put together.
The world according to Garp. Highly recommended
