I forgot to announce in here but our surprise baby arrived on the 3rd of August. We welcomed our beautiful girl, Madelyn Grace, at home at 9:49am after 3 hours of active labour. Her big sister watched her be born and her big brothers came in just after she was born so we could all look together and find out if baby was a girl or a boy ? It was such a wonderful experience and I loved every minute.
Haha ? It's made me want another too Zazu, but my husband would also have a heart attack! He wanted 2 kids and we have 4 now ?
Thank you lovelies ?
Good luck with your homebirth august15baby. I hope it goes wonderfully for you ❤️ I can't wait to read your birth story ?it's so nice to know there are others on here having a homebirth. It's so sad that it isn't more common in Australia.
Thank you ladies ?
Zazu, it was absolutely amazing having a homebirth! It was such a calm, relaxed atmosphere and I really enjoyed not having to worry about getting to the hospital and just being able to slip into the birth pool when I was ready. It was so nice to be in my own space and just let everything happen. My midwives were really hands off (except necessary monitoring of bubs heartbeat and my own pulse) and they just let me do my thing. I loved my kids being able to be a part of it all (I really wanted them to know that birth is normal and not something to be afraid of). And it was heaven to have a shower afterwards and snuggle down with bub in my own bed!
I honestly have had the most amazing care throughout my pregnancy, birth and postpartum (you wouldn't get the same at the hospital at all). I highly recommend it to anyone who is low risk. It just felt so right!
My only regret is that I didn't have a homebirth with my 2nd and 3rd babies like I wanted to. I wish I hadn't waited until my 4th! I'd do it again in a heartbeat ?
Had to look for your birth story haha! So beautiful ??
