Hey girlies, I just picked up my son after he woke up and he felt a little hot. I checked his temp with a digital thermometer under his arm and it read 37.1. My mum always told me you add 0.5 degrees to an under arm reading but I googled and its saying you add 1 degree. Does anyone know?  I have also run out of panadol so im stressing a little ?

When my DD was in hospital they never added anything

I'm a nurse and take temp either oral, axilla (under arm), ear, core temps (invasive). We don't add anything to the values.

I just tested this theory on myself and it was 0.5 so hes all good I think.  Thanks for ur replies girls

I was told to add 0.5. I never did though because I didn't know how accurate it was.
