He doesn't get upset with socks. Just takes them off when he remembers them.

How does he do with socks? You could try something like zutano booties around the house to get him used to having something on his feet. They would have a heavier weight than socks but be more flexible than shoes. It's definitely time for him to be wearing shoes in restaurants and the park, so I'd just work on getting him used to them a little at a time.

We are home most of the time and just started going outside this past week. (The weather has finally been nice enough.) when we do go out in public, I don't ever put him down.

Dd wears shoes when we go out, but not at home. We bought her some stride rites.

My baby has had some since birth. We didn't always use them, but I'd say your child is more than ready to wear them at least occasionally. In my opinion being very mobile ( before even walking) needs shoes on public. Once they are walking, they for sure need them.

He walk about half the time and crawls the other half.
