Nursing school advice I'm about to start an LPN program. It's full time 12 months . I have a 16 month old little girl?

Don't quit! Stick it out! And when your done go do your RN it's easy to get comfortable with the lvn salary!! But don't!

just like pp said you can do it, don’t quit! where are you starting your program if you don’t mind me asking!

I just wanted to give you a bit of encouragement. I am a mom of 4 with one on the way and had my first at 18. Every two years I've been pregnant and I got my Master's in Science for Registered Nursing about 4 years ago. My husband is a contractor for a large construction company and can be out of town for weeks on new projects. I just wanted to say that your road isn't going to be the same as all the other students going to school and that is perfectly fine. I had some people in my class that were already grandparents going for their RN. Do your best, keep on top of your work and all the sacrifice is worth it in the end. Believe me there were times when I was breastfeeding and doing homework at 2am and had to get my school age kiddos up at 6:30 for school. You can do this!!! Stick to your work, know that the hardwork will pay off in the long run and don't let anyone tell you, you've got it rough! If anything that precious little girl is all the reason to do it! If you can do the LPN program, The RN program won't be a shock to you, you'll get through it.

It is hard. I wish our program went for a year straight in Canada they broke it up to two years.

I’m in 4th semester super nervous I’m 27 weeks with my third child I have a 6yo and 3yo I want to for sure finish my book work but unsure or my practicum it’s 7w then preceptor ship for 8 or 6 I can’t remember

Definitely keep going all the way through- I stopped at my LPN because I got pregnant in my last semester and I have had no motivation to go back. My husband and I just started talking about me going back this morning and he did a really good job motivating me that I’m seriously considering it ? but I just cried thinking about leaving my babies during the day to go to school! I would highly suggest making sure all your pre-req’s are done so you can just continue on- I finished mine but they revamped the program since I’ve been out so now I have to do more ? Also it is a MUST that you find at least a couple people in the program that you can study with and that will be continuing on to RN. Most people find a group to study with so that’s not a big deal- but I don’t know how I would have survived without people to bounce ideas off of and hear different ways to approach a problem!

I am an RN . Recently graduated on 12/23/17 and took my Nclex. I have a 3 yo toddler and currently pregnant. It was the hardest years if my entire life. Sleepless night after sleepless night. My daughter has severe chronic asthma and i had to study. I used to sleep around 4-5 hours over my 3 1/2 years of nursing school. However, when you do graduate and see your license in your hands, that feeling there is so amazing and you feel so proud of yourself that could not even imaging. Satisfaction! You made it.

You can do this. Go for it. That will be the biggest challenge of your life and the biggest proud.

Currently upgrading to my Rn, it is a challenge as of right now... I have two kids from another man and he hasn't paid child support in over 6 months, I'm full-time at the moment but had to drop one class because my life has been too crazy. Even so, I will continue to plug away and get this done (as I would love to get my NP down the road). In Canada single parents receive a lot of support to go back to school. So check out what kind of support you can get, and keep working towards that goal. You can achieve anything in the right mind set.
