Cramps/ab core workouts

I just found out I'm expecting #5 prob only about 3wks or so I have cramping and lower back ache and was wondering if I can continue my normal ab/core workout even w the cramping. I have been working out with weights for the past 2 yrs and have done the 21 day fix about 100x lol plus a lot of at home you tube work outs. This is my first fit pregnancy and I'm just looking for any tips/advice on this thanks!:)

I went to the gym this morning for the first time since I found out last week, only 4 weeks myself. I spoke to one of the trainers there, and she said ab work is probably fine for now as long as it doesn't get uncomfortable. Though If your cramping I'd probably leave out the ab work for now. Also, was told not to get my heart rate too high, said i should be able to have a conversation without getting overly puffed. One your bump is starting to show, you should avoid exercises that have you lying on your front or back, and some types of ab work shouldn't be done, not sure which ones though but I'd imagine crunches and anything that involves twisting would be out. If you go to a gym regularly talk to one of the personal trainers, they'll be able to tell you anything you need to know. Also, if you do classes you should tell the instructor beforehand and they can advise you on which exercises you should avoid and offer alternatives. Hope this was some help and good luck on your pregnancy ?

Depends on how you feel. There is a jazzercise instructor that taught high impact up until her c-section. She used 8 lb weights during strength traing and would lie on her back for ab work. Everyone and every pregnancy is different. Its important to listen to your body and drink lots of water. She is my inspiration this go around. My last pregnancy i mainly did low impact and no weights in my 2nd trimester because i didnt like the way my core felt. It was almost straining. This time around im in better shape and we shall see what happens! Good luck
