I didn't EP, but I've used a manual pump while out and kept a cooler in the car for the milk.

Get a car adapter for your pump and bring a cooler. I used to put empty plastic sandwich bags in the cooler, you can get cups of ice anywhere to fill them and keep the milk cool enough until you get home.

I pumped in my truck and still do. I made a hands free bra (just cut holes in an old bra) and I would sit in the back and pump. The put the milk in a cooler with ice packs. It’s a pain but it’s worth it in the end. I can go 5-6 hours without pumping now so it gets better!

@laniejay, do they sell them at any store? Or would I have to order one online?

@kristinsilk, yeah Im at that point now the longest I’ve gone without pumping is 6hrs I just get scared my supply will dry up or something 😫

@asandovaln, depends on the pump you have. I got mine at Walmart I think when I had a Medela

I don’t want to jinx it but so far so good. I am still making more then he needs in a day pumping 5-6 hours. Everyone is different so do what makes you feel comfortable. I have a large stash so if I stop tomorrow he can eat for at least 2 months. Pumping is hard I wish you the best of luck!!

@kristinsilk, i pump more than what she eats as well! I actually had to lower my supply a little i ended up in the hospital 3 days bc I got mastitis.. I was pumping up to 10oz in 15min before mastitis now I pump 6oz & my freezer is also full of milk! I just wish I could figure out how to stay out longer without freaking out 😫 lol i guess i just have to get use to it.. but thank you so much!! It really is hard some days I just want to give up but I know it’s best for baby girl

I have an adapter for my car but I also pack an extension cord just in case I find a private area. I also pack a blanket to cover myself because I don’t want everyone staring at my boobs. I bring bottles and freezer bags (I have a generous supply) and keep them clean by putting them in a ziplock bag. I bring a separate bag for the pump pieces. I haven’t found a good way to clean things yet

@asandovaln, oh no that’s awful that you got mastitis! I am so afraid to get that! I totally understand why you are freaking out about going longer. I am terrified of stopping. It has to feel awful.
