Как правильно установить детское кресло в Toyota Sienna?

How are you getting a proper install for forward facing car seats in the captains chairs?? We just bought a 2nd car seat to find out it too will not install properly. I’ve worked with CSFTL and they are stumped as well. Per Toyota you cannot have a passenger in the seat without the headrest installed. However, the headrest interferes with the installation of the car seat. WTF. We spent $40k on a van to transport children and we cannot get a proper install on car seats?? I’ve contacted Toyota and I’m waiting on a response. It’s not a big deal to keep him rearfacing for now, but he’s 4; I can’t do it forever. 😡😡

Diono Ranier, Chicco Nextfit, Graco Extend to Fit, and we just tried a Chicco harnessed booster that I can’t think of the name

@squishymommy1, we tried the ones above because we even tried our other child’s seats. He still has at least two years before we forward face, but the plan was to have this car for a long time.

It’s ok for the back of the seat to not be entirely flush with the vehicle seat. I believe only Diono has the flush rule? (And they could have changed it because the earth has shifted on its axis 🙄😑)

@squishymommy1, according to the Chicco manual- it has to be flush. The Diono has a little play allowed now, but we are taking 5-6”. I wish I had taken a pic, but I was livid and then it started to downpour so I ran in the house.

The Britax frontier might work well. The “shell” part is fairly short and should fit entirely under the headrest or at least mostly.

@squishymommy1, ugh, I seriously toyed between the MyFit and the Frontier. We love the Nextfit so much that I decided to go with the Chicco. Maybe I’ll wait until next week and see how much babysrus is marked down to then.

@squishymommy1, we don’t 😔 thanks for your advice though! We’ll try the frontier and if that doesn’t work we are trading the van. At least my sister is ttc so she’ll take whatever car seats we don’t use 😂

@mokimbo, I fought buying a van so hard. We took our car seats to every dealership and tried every damn SUV and van out there. This was the only one that met most of our needs. We installed the seats, but only Rearfacing. We didn’t think about forward facing being an issue 😡😡😡 I also have a 6’ tall teenager, my grandfather and shitty weather needing AWD.
