My dog is afraid of wind... and thunderstorms. Now that we live up on the mountain, we can get some pretty windy nights and he FREAKS out. Panting, pacing, shaking, drooling, you name it! It drives me crazy because we try to sleep and he just paces. We have hard wood floors so you hear his nails when he walks. He will only settle if we let him sleep in our bed, which we never do. He's snuck in bed with us a few times after we were sleeping and one night I caved and let him in because I was so tired and I couldn't sleep!

You could try the ace bandage wrap first to see if it helps before investing in a thunder shirt. I've heard they work wonders but it might depend on the dog.

Thunder shirts work fantastic for some dogs. Some don't respond to them at all. It is definitely worth a try though. You could also try giving a dose of benadryl. Sometimes that will make them a little sleepy and help them settle. Also confining them to a smaller room, or even their crate and playing music or the TV as back ground noise. I had a dog with severe noise phobia and all these things helped her some. Nothing but sedation helped totally, but it would at least make things bearable for her and us! I've also been a certified vet tech for 13 years, and these are always my first suggestions for clients having these issues. Feel free to pm me if you need more help.

It is definitely worth a try! My mom has two Jack Russell dogs and it worked for one if them. Good luck ?
