Wow so Ur home will b over 3000 sqft?! That's huge!!!

I have a two story home n hate it. I thought that's what I wanted at the time (before kids) n now I want a single story home. I prefer everyone to b on a single level. Oh idk what the sq footage is on each level but my home is over 1800 sqft so I suppose u just divide that.

Town house. Spacious for 3 Family.

We have 2 floors (plus a basement) each floor is approx 1100 sq feet we have 3 children. I find it to be enough space for us. Our main floor is open concept so it is pretty spacious. We have 4 bedrooms, they aren't huge but they are decent size. Our basement is also open concept but it's split in half one half being a laundry/storage room & cold cellar. The other half is a bachelor apartment that we rent out for $1000 a month.

I grew up in a 5 thousands Sq ft house. 2 levels no basement (fl) and 4 kids. It was perfect for us.

We have a two story, the downstairs is around 4500 sq ft and the upstairs is around 1500 (this is a rough guess, I know the sq footage of our entire house is 6000). I. Hate. It. It's too big, I constantly have to worry about my toddler going up and down the stairs and falling, her room is upstairs and she's just now discovered she can climb out of her crib ? so now I'm scared she's going to get out and fall down the stairs while we're asleep. It's a pain in the butt to go up and down stairs with laundry while you have children that want to follow you, I've almost fallen while holding both children, it sucks needing something in the night and having to go down and get it while you're half asleep. DH and I are hoping to move back to our starter home (single story) soon and I'll never ever have a two story home again.

It will be open concept. The foyer, dining room, living room and kitchen are open. To the left of the front door is a little hallway/alcove and that's where the 2 bedrooms for the kids will be and a full bath separating the two. On the other side of the house is the master suite (bedroom, walk-in closet, and full bath), plus a mud room /laundry room. They call this the "split bedroom layout" and that's why we loved it so much!

Our old house was 3200 sq ft but 3 levels (2 stories and a basement). While we have the same space in the new house (once we finish the basement), I'm just worried how we will all fit on one floor for a year!
