I have well water also. We keep our softener full of salt always and yet I too cannot bring myself to drink it. I swear it tastes bad. But my gay and says it tastes perfectly fine.

We have well water and have a culling an filter on the well. They come out every month and change something. It's fine.

We're on a well too. My husband is a water snob so he bought a dispenser and we get 5 gallon bottles for drinking/coffee/kids. It works out really well, does hot and cold water so can easily make lactation tea and have icy cold water on demand!!

My mil is on a well and you can always tell when the salt is out in her softener. It tends to have a soapy taste and reeks of sulfur.

I'm on well water also, but I get grossed out by city water! Lol

Same happened to my family a yr ago. We buy bottled water. We also have a brita pitcher and a filter on the sink lol still not enough

I hate it. No bathes for me or the kiddies. Wait we shower but I refuse to sit in a tub full of brown well water. It's supposedly clean but still brown. Gross.

I'm the opposite. Grew up on well water and now have a problem drinking city water unless it's filtered through our Brita.

Get your water tested. It will help with your fears. We have well water and it is much safer than the city water with all the chemicals they use to clean it.

I always had city water until I met my husband. Out house now uses well water, I hate it. The well was drilled in the 80s and they didn't put a filter on it. Now we have slime that comes out sometime. It also makes my hair and skin so dry. I can't wait to move into our new home.

I grew up on well water, and I hated it! I would never drink it. I prefer city water.

We have a water dispenser on our fridge and we change the filter frequently. But I cannot drink it. I can't deal with the taste but apparently it's fine. My grandmother even brings 4 litre jugs over to fill because she likes it so much. But I just can't do it. I buy 4L of spring water to keep in the fridge for myself.

How would you get it tested? is there a kit you buy and send it out?

I have serious issues regarding any drinks but especially water if I see or know it comes from a tap I can't drink it, I cannot touch water at a restaurant, friends house even my in laws house. We buy bottled water by the gallon at the store to keep for drinking and even if I pour it and walk away from it for more than a few minutes I have to dump it, for me a solution has been a clear Starbucks cup with a lid I wash it myself every night (hubby can't wash it or I will never use it for water again) and toss a few mint leaves in every morning, this is the only way I have been able to drink enough water while pregnant and even then I'm cutting it close ? I'm weird

My parents built their current house and the county she's in costs 5000$ to run water lines to their private road. So they have a well with a water system for the whole house. They keep it filled with salt from Lowes. If it's out its usually yellow in color and stinks like eggs.

Edit they also get theirs tested but the county does it.

We have a reverse osmosis filtration system on top of a complete filtration system at the house input and I still buy bottled water ? I think I have that scene from goonies locked in my mind. Like tasting metal coins at the end of the well. Lmao.

I love our well water. We get it tested every couple years by the company that maintains our holding tank and well. Ours is hard, but other than a little build-up we don't have any issues with it. I much prefer it to city water.
