I think it's important to make sure while his body grows things are in the correct spot so the rest of his body isn't over compensating and shifting because of the leg. So yes I personally think it's important.

I guess my question is, is him seeing a chiropractor a good idea? I've have back problems and seeing the chiropractor got addictive. I just don't want to make the wrong decision on his care. His pt didn't say anything about him seeing a chiropractor

I am a PTA and that is very common. Some kids grow out of it some don't, but its good you caught it early to prevent any real damage

I started bringing my daughter to a pediatric chiropractor when she was 3 weeks old. Many women, in the hospital I delivered in, had their chiro's come right to the recovery room. There's a lot to be read in the field of SIDS research and chiro adjustments. If you're not totally against it, it's a very healthy, non-invasive form of health care.

I have one leg shorter than the other. It resulted in pretty severe scoliosis. Which causes me back pain and a lot of neck pain. Which causes me frequent headaches. I see a chiropractor every week. The shoe lift is a good idea. Make sure he uses those. Until he stops growing at least. A chiropractor can help keep things in line while he grows. Look for a pediatric chiropractor. There is really nothing to be concerned about. But if it comes to needing a back brace I would definitely do it sooner than later and be strict with it. That's one of my biggest regrets.

He won't grow out of. I would take it pretty seriously. His body will overcompensate for the leg discrepancy and the scoliosis will get worse.

I don't have any help for you. I hope they figure out something to help. I know my husband had his arm dislocated when he was younger and I guess it messes with your growth plate so his arms are two different lengths.
