Deviated septum surgery....
Has anyone had this done before? I have sleeping problems and had a sleep study done. They said I snore and I don't have sleep apnea. They put a camera up my nose which they had a hard time doing. The surgeon told me I have a deviated septum and wants to do surgery. Has this actually helped anyone with breathing problems or sleeping problems?

My husband and I both need it done but it's consider cosmetic most of the time so insurance won't cover it

Please don't say that! I hope my insurance doesn't consider it cosmetic! I haven't slept right in 10 years !

My little brother got the surgery. He has to go a second time since his growth screwed it up again. The recovery sucks, but he breathed well after it was done and healed.

I had a deviated septum and polyps blocking 100% of my right nostril and 90% of my left. Basically I couldn't breathe through my nose at all. Whilst I was getting that sorted I also had a lump removed and the size of the tip of my nose reduced. It was cosmetic surgery but the best money I've ever spent.

I had it done when I was 17. I had chronic sinus infections until I got that surgery. Helped a lot with breathing... I didn't even know how bad my breathing was till I had the surgery!

I've had mine repaired. It was the most painful experience of my life and my breathing problems still aren't any better. And now my nostrils and tip of my nose look crooked
