I would call your dr and ask. Each person is different.

I carried my toddler around as soon as I stood up after giving birth, I was never told otherwise.

Okay I will call tomorrow and ask. I miss picking up my lo and I only had one stitch and very easy labor.

I waited until my 6 week check up.

I carried my 2 year old the same day and went back to work as a CNA, lifting much heavier people than him, 2 weeks later. Not sure how long you're suppose to actually wait, but I couldn't tell my 2 year old no when he said "Mama, pick up and kiss!"

I'm horrible. I have to carry my DD and she weighs 42 lbs. I can't help myself and I always forget not to. Oh well.

I was told the same thing and currently 3wks pp. I waited at least 2wks, even though I felt perfectly fine after birth. Lol

Mine was until my incision was checked at the OB. So a few weeks. It was roughly when I stopped taking my pain meds

My midwife told me at least the first three weeks.

I'm seeing 2-3 weeks is generally when it's ok. I miss picking my DD up.

I was told for at least two weeks. I ended up picking my 3 year old up a few days after birth because she was having a s*** fit and I hurt myself.

Well it will be four weeks Sunday and I have been feeling fine since the first week. I think I will carry my DD when she asks me to because it breaks my heart that I have to say I can't.

Did you have a csection? I was never told to restrict how much i pick up. Sounds like a great recipe for sibling rivalry to not pick up your older child

I picked up and carried around my 2 year old 25lb son the same day I had my daughter.

I am 2 weeks pp after having a csection and I forgot and picked up my two year old the other night she's 30 pounds and I thought I was gonna die lol! I haven't taken pain meds since I've been home but I had to take one after that I will just wait until I see my doctor and ask her

They told me the same and I'm just going by how I feel...I'm a week pp and we went to eat this past weekend and I think it was too soon bc I've been feeling sore and like my uterus hurts so definitely not picking up my son anytime soon ??

@hides I had a vaginal delivery. Yes I believe the same thing but I am picking up my DD now. I feel fine so far.

After my cesarean I was always careful until after I was cleared for exercise about 10 weeks pp.

After my vaginal birth I carried my older boy and didn't worry as much once I felt up to it, maybe a week or 2 pp.

Just go by how your body feels and consult your doctor if you're worried
