Should I Pay My Niece's Grandma for Babysitting?

My nieces gma from her moms side offered to watch my son for a few hours (7-10). I feel really bad since I don't feel like he's her responsibility at all. She told him how she's going to have popcorn, movies, and her grandchildren there and she wants him to go too. I had planned on taking him to some local fights since my brother is fighting. But now he's all about wanting to go to her house :/. Would it be weird if I paid her $20? Is that enough? She's a good woman and her husband chimed in and ensured me that they would love for my son to be there and that he was going to help with the kids. It'll be 5 kids altogether including my son.

No I don't think it's weird to offer her money. I highly doubt she will take it though but u should still offer. That's very nice of her and I'm sure your son is going to have so much fun!!! Sounds like a fun night for him for sure!!

Ya I would drop off some snacks for all of them. You could offer money, but she probably wouldn't accept.

It sounds like a fun family night. Not something parents are paying for. It might offend her if you offer money.

I asked her if she'd like me to take snacks and she said no. I'm just gonna pay her $20 and say that I appreciate her and her time. I know that she's never treated that way but hell, $20 could be groceries for a dinner lol.

I agree with Charlie, i would get her & her husband a gift card to a restaurant or the movies. ☺️
