Solids
My 6 month old isn't very interested in solids. I've tried bananas, oatmeal, and baby food from a jar. He just spits all of it out. Is it ok if he doesn't start solids until later? Is my breast milk still enough for him nutritionally speaking?

Yes to all questions asked ☺️ also puree isn't your only option. Look up baby led weaning, he might take to that better.

It may take time for them to adjust. Your baby may not be ready yet. I say try again in a few weeks. My second didn't really become interested until 7 months and within a few weeks was wanting table foods. She was breastfed and it was her main source of nutrients :)

Is he spitting it out or pushing it out with his tongue? He may not have lost his tongue thrust reflex yet. Dd didn't until almost 7mo.
You can certainly wait a little longer til he's ready.

He spits it out and makes a face. He doesn't really even open his mouth when I put food up to his lips. I'll look up baby led weaning thank you!

Sometimes baby isn't ready for food and don't reach all the necessary milestones to start solids, even at six month. Ivy wasn't ready until eight months old and even then, she wasn't eating consistently. Don't worry about it, Mama. Until a year old baby's main nutrients and hydration should still be coming from breastmilk or formula, so I say you're doing just fine :)

Honestly my daughter didn't really care for baby food until she was closer to a year old.

Most babies don't take to food that well in the beginning, it usually takes several tries before they start to figure it out and eat. It's okay to keep trying. When my daughter first started eating she only ate one or two bites a day.
