Rant HELP ME PLEASE !
Since birth my son Has had problems latching and staying latched and working for the milk. So lately I've been trying to only nurse him,. I Hadn't been pumping just trying to get him to latch good and nurse on both sides. I though he was doing really well. He did seem like he was hungry a lot more often and wasn't eating for a long period of time. I felt engorged last night so I decided to pump and instead of getting my usual 6 ounces when I emptied my breasts I got about 1.5 ounces. All night last night and today I haven't been able to get barely any milk, and I've been pumping every hour....is something wrong ? Ive been drinking lots of water to try to increase my supply but still can only get about 1.5 ounces at most every hour and My baby is starving( he usually eats about 3 ounces) what do I do ? Money is tight this month but I will try anything ! Please help!

Has baby been checked for a lip/tongue tie? Pumping tends to not get out as much.

He doesn't have either, but he had really bad jaundice when he was born so he's been a sleepy baby

Jaundice could be contributing to this. My seconds lip tie was missed. She had slight jaundice, slept a lot, and struggled to latch. I used bottles with her to teach latching for the first month. I did keep formula for her also when I was worried she didn't get enough.

What can I do to increase my supply

I upped my water intake and took fenugreek for a little while. There are foods you can eat to see if it helps. I'm not sure on all of them. Drinking milk helped me.

Oatmeal really increased my supply when I was needing to pump for a few days. I would eat a bowl for breakfast every morning. Not instant though, it has to be good quality slow cooking stuff. It was less than $10 for a big bag that lasted a long time.
