Babysitting opportunity
So a friend recently asked me if I could take over babysitting for her 3 kids - 2 yr old, 4yr old, and a 7 year old. She is a bar tender though so I would have to work crazy hours like 4-2 am. And she also wants me to work during the days so she can get stuff done at her house. No weekend work though, which is great. I just don't have a car myself, so my husband would have to drive me to her house at 5am every morning and pick me up at 2am or come over after he gets done with work at 5pm and stay with me untill 2am. She said she would pay me 200 dollars a week though and my husband and I are tight on money, so we could use it .... What would you do ?!?

I would do it. It sounds like a good deal to me. It would also help out a lot if you're struggling with money.

I would do it. From 4-8 pm you're giving them dinner, entertaining for 2-3 hours and doing bedtime. Your sleep schedule is going to be off a little bit. Maybe ask to stay at her place one or two nights a week. That way your husband doesn't have to constantly adjust his sleep schedule as well.

I would have her pick you up before that way you're not over there from 5am -2am everyday and your so doesn't need to pick you up at 2am only to take you back at 5am.
Or pay for a cab everyday if you could and it's not too much.

So you will be working 105-110 hours a week at less than $2 an hour for 3 kids?
You might as well be live in nanny. Its dumb to only go home for 3 hours, and a waste of gas. Honestly its not worth it for that many hours. Especially for 3 kids, and never being home. I got paid $250 a week for working 30 hours when I babysat.
I would pass. I know you want to help her but you will pretty much be a live in nanny. 3 kids is a lot. You are also sacrificing alone time with the hubby, which may ending hurting it if you are always watching her kids. My friend is also a bar tender and never needed a babysitter for that long. Usually from 4pm to 3 am. And still managed to get stuff done.

Sounded good until you said $200 a week. That's super low.
On the other hand... If it won't affect your time with your spouse and you need the money, then $200 is $200 more than you had before.
But she's definitely getting a good deal if you take it. I would see about just doing it while she's at work. She should be able to get daytime stuff done on her own. If she has appts during the day, she can drop the kids off with you a few hours and pay extra for that.

Yea I just asked her about that because I thought that was way to cheap for an all day and night deal and she said she would do 200 for a 5am-5pm 3 days a week, and one night from 6pm- 8 pm. So that sound pretty reasonable right ?

You gotta ask yourself if it's worth your time and how valuable your time is. You'll be making about 5 bucks an hour working 3 days a week watching 3 kids. If you need money that badly can't you find part time work? I do not mean this as any disrespect and definitely not knocking it as a job, but I know cleaning ladies that make 100 bucks a day cleaning houses and they finish the task in 3 hours or less. I say, work smarter not harder ( cause babysitting is no piece of cake either). I'd say HELL NAW- double or how about triple cause it's 3 kids. At least ask her for minimum wage! ??

I think is a good idea but would negotiate the hours. I wouldn't go there at 5am. That's a lot of hours for 200 a week.
