How did you ladies start with weaning I'm wanting to start giving my son porridge In the mornings as he's no longer interested in his 10 o'clock bottle, do I drop that or not? Xx

How old is he? We started weaning a bit before 6 months I used to give him porridge made with his milk and then offer him the rest of the milk from the bottle. Then when he was 6 months I started making it with cows milk as he never drunk the rest anyway x

He's 17 weeks I know it's still a little early but I feel he's ready xx

I would do it with his milk then. They say give him the bottle first then offer the porridge but I always did porridge then milk cause he wouldn't drink the bottle anyway ? and that way he was still getting some of his milk in his porridge x

He'll only drink an oz of his milk at this time - it says on the box to do it with water though? Xx

Oh ok. I used Ella's kitchen porridge which you make with the milk. I'm not sure maybe try him then and he might want his next bottle a bit earlier. Sorry I'm not much help x

Gave him porridge and he actually really liked it, tried the bottle after and he only took an oz, so don't know what to do x

I just feel that he is ready, I'm literally only trying porridge for now, and even then it's only a little bit, he had no problems eating the porridge this morning and seemed to really like it. X

Maybe his teething? U generally only start weaning that early if milk isn't sustaining their huger not because they've gone off it a bit. I would still make his porridge up with milk not water if you really want to start weaning him. 17 weeks is very early to start dropping bottles! My 6 month old isn't interested in his 930 one either but is still offer it everyday just incase he takes more which he sometimes does.

I'm still offering him it. I don't know what else to do I don't want him to lose weight or not get enough. X

Have u had him weighed recently hun? Around 4 months they do tend to eat a little less for a while, both of my boys did it and I was like u and worried when my first did. Someone on here told me though that around that age their growth and development just slows down for a little while and they simply just don't need as much. I really wouldn't worry unless he does start losing weight and u never know he may start drinking that bottle again soon :) x

He gets weighed Tuesday, I keep offering the bottle but it does worry me considering he use to have 7oz like every 4 hours. Plus I literally only giving him a tiny bit of porridge and won't be upping it for a little bit x

17 weeks is fine for baby rice. All kids are different but my eldest was on baby rice from 14 weeks as was already having 8oz bottles and still hungry, whereas my son didn't start till 7 months as he wernt interested. You know your baby but the main signs they ready for good too is they stare at you eating, they won't be full after a bottle and they will start to become unsettled in night again x

Waiting till 6 months and went the baby lead weaning route. Starting with toast, yogurt fruit veg etc... She eats mainly the same as is all the time.
