Health visitor Would you call you health visitor if your little one kept doing random little 3oz…

I see mine today n I'm gonna ask her. Our lg is almost 6 weeks old n has been put on hungry baby formula as she had used up all the room in her other bottle (9oz) n still wanting more sometimes! We changed to variflow teats too n if she has a big feed the next few she will only take a little but then be restless.

Hi hun, babies will drink what they want till they are satisfied, 3oz might be satisfying your baby on some feeds. When we are full we don't carry on eating, babies are no different. If he is loosing weight or it is getting to the point it is happening every feed then it might be worth a call, or just to settle your mind even.

I don't know how old your baby is but when our lg was 3.5 months, she went through this period of bitting bobbing to, it soon passed.

But like i said, if any concerns, call them, its what they are there for :) xx

Also, what number teats is your baby on? It could be that he is getting tired of sucking so giving up because the milk isn't coming out quick enough for him... X

He's 10 weeks, I use the normal teets because they cams with the bottle and he's always seemed fine with them I just don't want him to lose weight

Would only contact the HV if his weight started to dip. My LG is breastfed but on the odd occasion she has a bottle of expressed milk, sometimes she chugs 5oz and wants more and other times she only takes about 3oz - she's nearly 15 weeks old. As pp said, babies are just like us, they'll take what they need at the time. If he just occasionally takes 3oz then the teats probably aren't a problem, but might be worth getting the next size up to try just in case - we had to start using size 2 teats for our LG around 10 weeks old as the milk wasn't flowing fast enough from size 1 for her x

My lg is 11 weeks and drinks 3oz every 3-4 hours. Shes just nt a hungry baby she was 9lb 2 at birth amd is now 12lb 2 xx

I've made an appointment for Wednesday just to be weighed to be on the safe side. If his weight is fine I'll may just buy the next size teats thanks ladies xx
