Wi-Fi video monitor.
I'm trying to find ways for my husband to be a little more involved with our little. He works out of town so he's never home. If I got a Wi-Fi video monitor would he be able to log into it and see her from where ever he is or no? Either way we are going to end up putting Wi-Fi cameras around the house so he can log in to see what she's up to and I can feel a little more comfortable with a sitter in my home. I just want him to be able to log in to watch me read her a story and out her down for the night so he can kind of feel a bit more involved.
We use the Snug wifi camera (I think that's the name), bought it off Amazon. We've been pleased with it, image quality is good. It comes with an app you download and can view the camera any time and change the camera angle. We have family in cyber crime law enforcement who aren't concerned about hackers of these things (unless you have domestic issues- estranged father with IT know how, that sort of thing). Hackers don't really have anything to gain from spying on a sleeping baby. Psychos are going to go elsewhere for their kicks and the rest are people looking to make a profit, or be genuinely destructive, both of which aren't really very effective in this case.
@boonee we are planning on putting up Wi-Fi security cameras around the house. Partly because I'm paranoid and I'd like to see around my house from my room and partly because we live so far from people we know that we are going to need to get sitters and I want to be able to check in and make sure they aren't harming my child or anything like that.
It's not exactly what you're after, but I use the app Baby Monitor (by Annie). I set my old iPhone as the camera, and it's accessible on my iPad and our android devices as long as we log in with the username and password. I get an email whenever someone logs in from a new device.
It was a free download on the App Store, $3.99 for the membership.
I'll probably move to the same system you're after when we start having babysitters.
My I my main concern would be that someone would hack it and find out It's just me and my daughter 99% of the time. At our old place someone knew when my husband came and left and would consistently try to get in at night.
