I need relief!! Help!
I felt a little stuffy over the weekend and yesterday I got hit by a freight train of coughing.. I didn't get any sleep at all last night.. today I'm pretty sure I've thrown up more times than my entire pregnancy put together... I go into massive coughing fits that cause me to throw up. I'm using vapor rub, honey lozenges and drinking tons of water. My head and body hurt so bad that I'm completely useless. I don't know what I am supposed to do. Everyone I talk to tells me that there are no cold mess that are safe to take during pregnancy. I get maybe 5 mins or so of relief with the lozenges and then I'm back to coughing fits. I'm beyond miserable. I normally handle these things pretty well but since I've been pregnant it just seems to hit me worse. I'm at my wits end.. before I got pregnant I used a cough syrup that was prescribed to me. High in codeine. Take 2 spoons of it and I was out like a light. Now I have to ride it out. I'm thinking about going to walk in tomorrow but I'm not sure if they are trained in the pregnancy thing. If that makes any sense. I was originally gonna give it a few days to see if it is gonna get any better but I can't handle it! I want to cry.. any tips on dealing with a massive cold during pregnancy? I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant and I don't want mess that are gonna harm my little one.

I feel your pain only I'm almost 12 weeks instead of further along than you. I used plain robitussin (not the dm kind, watch you labels) and unisom (doxlamine succonate) and I also took tylenol just according to the package instructions. U might try a netty pot. Tea with lemon and honey. A clear liquid diet if you can tolerate it. And try to rest. I hope this helos.

Have you tried the vapor rub on your soles of your feet? Sounds silly but it works for coughs. Lather it on and put some socks on. Works for me for night coughs x

I'm up right now too with the terrible hacking. It totally blows! I gave in and called my doctor today and he said I could take anything Tylenol/ cold related, mucinex, or robitussen. Just avoid anything that says "night time formula." I really wanted to avoid taking any medicine but it's been so bad that I did today. I woke up when it wore off so I guess it's helping! Maybe call your doctor in the morning to check- not sure if they'll green light medicine if you have any complications or other extenuating factors. Good luck!

I slept for a total of 2 hours and have now been up for an hour. I wish being pregnant automatically made you immune to things like this! ??????
