I'm in Austin but my husbands mom and family is in Beaumont, the water was close to covering their cars, 10 of their chickens died and they will be without water for a while. But they are okay, trying to come to Austin but there's no way in/out of Beaumont.
Wow it's just astounding the amount of water!! So scary!! I'm glad you ladies are ok. I seen one news report of a grandma waiting for her daughter and 6 week old baby to be rescued! We're watching the news from Canada and just jaws wide open at the site of everything!!
It's devastating. My uncle-in-law works for line and power (sorry i dont know the exact company name) in Texas and he's been updating. He's on his 5th 18-20hr shift in a row.
I've had to turn the TV off. I cry every time, I can't imagine the devastation. My Husband is in Victoria right now and headed to Galveston in the morning. Every time we talk he cries. I have a hard sleeping at night knowing he is there I can't imagine my whole being there! Praying for all involved.
UPDATE: Mandatory evacuation was downgraded to voluntary for our section of the neighborhood so we came home last night. This has been absolutely exhausting. I'm donating outgrown baby clothes, diapers, and wipes as soon as I can!

We are good. No immediate family has severe damage. Will be cleaning up and repairing for a while though.
