Jack is off and on with the car seat. I've noticed when he's tired, he cries till we reach our destination and get him out. We went out to the store today and he did fine on the way there and back. A friend invited me to join her and her hubby for dinner tonight and I was looking forward to some adult interaction. Jack was perfectly fine when he woke up from his nap, i fed him and changed him and loaded him up in the car. Well... he started crying instantly. Usually if that happens and I start driving, he calms down. Nope! Not this time. The restaurant was 30 minutes away and he would not stop crying. I ended up canceling and going back home because I couldn't let him cry that long. As soon as I got him out of the car he was perfectly fine -_- And he also won't nap in the car seat. It's rare when he does

Yep! I got my baby a mirror and my other kids sound cancelling headphones. Since doing all this and getting a van to space them out things have improved. Good luck??it's the worst.

Yes it is the worst!! I wish she'd stop being so selfish lol it affects us all...I hardly get anything done cause I have to limit my time driving and cancel running errands.

Have you tried putting him in the carseat, strap in, for short periods of time while you are at home to get him use to being in it?

Have you tried a children's CD or one with some calming lullabies on it? Some of the moms in the baby group I attend say it's the only way their babies are happy in the car.

No advice but I feel so bad for you and your other kids. I'm 9 years older than my sister and I can clearly remember her screaming and crying every time we were in the car so much she would make herself throw up. It sucked!

We have tried music but not lullaby tunes, only children's songs.

We just went through 20 minutes stuck in traffic today and her screaming and the others crying. I'm ok if she has to cry but the others get so stressed and worked up, my 7 year old daughter was kicking the seat with frustration and my son had tears. They just can't handle the stress, I feel bad.

Damien is the same way. We have the Rockabye! Baby CDs but it's a hit or miss depending on his mood.

I second the noise reducing headphones. My oldest has sensory issues with loud noises and gets self aggressive when it's too loud, so we got him those and they work wonders.

I never heard of these headphones. What's the cost?

It's like you're in my car! Adan has gotten better since we took one of the inserts out. He was getting too hot. But every now and then he'll still cry and then my 3 year old will cry and cover her ears. Thankfully my 10 year ok old is more calm and patient.

About $25 in Australia. Lots of people use them at fireworks and concerts for kids. I use them to preserve inter-family relations lol.

My friends kid hated the car seat, she switched him to a convertible seat and it was a game changer! He hated the infant seat..also turn you radio station to AM, the static/white noise soothes them

As soon as killian touches the carseat he throws a fit on a good day he will wait till we are 5 minutes down the road
