Cereal for supper anyone?
Cereal for supper anyone?
I'm having a crazy awful time trying to get back into the swing of things. I used to enjoy cooking (not a chef)) but I cooked every night....and now I just can't seem to get back into cooking.

Yes!! Sometimes I try to cook but baby has other plans for us. Plus our apt is small and she can here everything and wakes up for any sound. And then the slight chance I get to cook a meal, i don't get to eat hot anyway.

We have been really blessed with food from family and friends so I haven't had to do much, but I think that help is coming to a close. When you do cook, cook a bunch for leftovers! Especially your meat. Then you can add easy sides. Salad, can of corn, frozen veggies in microwave bags, microwave rice, potatoes from a box. All better than cereal for dinner (although I do like my cereal).

Luckily it's summer and hubs can grill! We rotate between hamburgers, hot dogs, pork chops and chicken. Everyone once and while I'll do a roast in the crock pot.

Yeah I've done burgers, BBQ food, cereal and pasta salad but there's no more gourmet meals here....just quick stuff if they're lucky...sometimes cheese and crackers

I hear ya! Tonight was the first night I've actually cooked a meal. And it was a quick stir fry. I'm thinking of food prepping, as in plan and chop all my food ahead of time so I can quickly throw things in....but we'll see

I did a roast in the big crockpot yesterday with carrots and onions and red roasted potatoes and garlic in my mini crockpot which I quickly mashed. We had that and a bag of Caesar salad. I use my crockpot almost everyday though or I wouldn't cook either.

This is us too! I have oatmeal for breakfast when I used to have bacon and eggs..peanut butter on a spoon like twice a day! And sometimes dinner is cheerios or hubby will cook something amazing. Baby is always attached to the boobies so he has the free time and hands to do this :) I'm not tired of these meals yet, but I'm only 3.5 weeks in LOL

I'm thinking about spreading out the cooking also. Yesterday I made meat and rice and we had salad with it. Today I made green beans to go with yesterdays meat and rice. Seems more manageable with a newborn.
