Question about growth spurt...
Nadya is coming 4 weeks in a few days. I think she had a growth spurt-was up cranky the past several days, drinking more often and fussy to get back to sleep..couldn't put her down to sleep (took forever). Now today she appears completely exhausted. She hasn't even stayed awake other then to nurse and right back to sleep. I'm beginning to wonder if she's feeling ok (no temperature). I don't see any signs she's sick other than she's slept all day today-just awake to nurse then passed out again and can put her down completely out of it no fussing....is this common after a growth spurt?

I was just about to post about this. My little guy is 5 weeks old and acting the same way. He's normally awake a lot during the day but I had to wake him up to feed. My pedi said 6 weeks is the first big spurt but their little bodies start preparing around 4 weeks. She also said a lot of babies start to become colicky around 4 weeks ?

Oh ok, I had thought the first growth spurt was 3 weeks. So maybe it's not a growth spurt but normal they have days they're awake often and then days they're sleeping most of it...

My son is 4 weeks and he was like that today. He had an hour of playtime in the morning and evening, otherwise he was eating or sleeping. We went to visit some friends who had their baby 3 days after me and she was so alert and awake and my bub was sleeping away.

Sharibaby they have different types of spurts. Some are growth but I think the one you thought you were in is a developmental spurt. So many spurts it's hard to keep track of and know what is just a minor blip in the baby growing or actually baby beginning to act a certain way. I was sure my baby was becoming just a difficult baby but she was actually going through a spurt.
