I haven't tried it yet, but you can look into black strap molasses. You only take a teaspoon or maybe a tablespoon per day. One person recommended mixing it into peanut butter.
Floradix is a drink with iron that's supposed to be absorbed better than the pills. It's too expensive for me so I don't take it, but it's probably the best option.

I take floradix. I took I during my last pregnancy too.
Get the liquid, not the tabs, and drink it with orange juice. Vitamin c helps your body absorb the iron. That's what my midwife told me.
It also doesn't make you constipated!
Also, seaweed is pretty high in iron

Green veg and my midwife recommended to me to take my iron tablets with pure orange juice as it make the iron absorbs into your system more

Ok I'll follow up on these tips. It always seems difficult to catch up on iron if I try getting it through spinach (I'd need to eat a lot)..I'm not a big red meat eater. I heard of molasses also and beans like chili beans I guess?

I take the pills and no matter what it constipates me to much even with stool softeners so I stop taking them and just eat raisin brand and eat red meat

I eat cereal. There's a bunch of cereals that have 45%-90% of daily iron. I didn't want to take a pill.
