best can or jar gravy
Hello, I don't eat turkey with gravy but my son does. Which is a good can or jar gravy? Thanks in advance!
For white gravy is use butter, flour, milk, salt, and pepper.
Equal parts butter and flour. So for example:
Melt 4 tbsp butter med heat
Whisk in 4 tbsp flour when butter completely melted
Add 2-3 cups whole milk and whisk until it goes to boil (turn heat up to 7-8)
Add salt and pepper to taste
You need to let it cook for a bit so the flavors marry or else it’ll taste like flour when you taste test it. Add more milk as needed to get desired consistency, and if it gets too thin just whisk in more flour and butter (in equal parts). Also, remember that it’ll take a couple of minutes for it to thicken up, and once it does it’ll happen quick. The entire process takes maybe five minutes.
None ? It's super easy to make your own gravy. All you need is some kind of fat and milk or broth s&p. Depending what kind of gravy you want.
For white gravy either use some kind of grease from meat like sausage or bacon but if you don't have that use butter or veg oil add a bit of flour and whisk together cook mixture till golden then slowly add milk whisking the entire time then season with s&p. Sorry I don't have measurements I'm sure you could find some online. For brown gravy use some kind of beef fat and replace milk with beef broth.
I buy powdered gravy and make it myself. So good ?
