How long were you dialated for before labor?

With my first I was 2cm at 32 weeks and still made it to my due date, actually had to get induced on my due date because I was 6cm and feeling no contractions!

I was 1.5 at 36 wks, 2 at 37, 2.5 at 38 and we will see Monday if I've made any more progress. It varies so much though and you can progress really rapidly once contractions start.

I'm in the same boat! 38+5 and found out today that I'm 3 cm, 50% effaced and baby is engaged. I know that it doesn't necessarily mean anything- however, I can't help but be excited. Gonna get on all fours tomorrow and scrub the floor!!! ?

I was 4cm at my 38 week appointment. Did a sweep and had her the next morning

@rhughes - did you ask for a sweep or did they just do one? I don't go back to the doctor until next week, but if baby isn't here yet I want a sweep to see if that gets things going! With my first they never did one, but I also wasn't dialated at my 39 week appointment so maybe that makes a difference?

With my very first I was .5cm at 29 weeks after triggering preterm labor by being dehydrated, they stopped it, and i stayed that way until the night I went in before my induction at 39 weeks. My second I was 1.5cm around 30 weeks. I asked for a check because I was having tons of BH, then at 36 weeks I started prodromal labor and dilated from 1.5 to 3.5 in the hour and a half it took to get to the hospital, I'd had a Dr appt the day before and was still 1.5cm. When I went in for my induction with her I was 4.5cm, after 3 agonizing weeks of contractions every 5 minutes due to the prodromal labor. My 3rd I have no idea how long I was dilated, but at my 37 week appt when he did my first vaginal exam I was 3cm, and 3.5cm when I went in for my 3rd induction. This 4th one was born late preterm at 36 weeks due to fluid leaking, but I was 1.5cm dilated having contractions at 32 weeks, they gave me the steroid shot then for her lungs, then the fluid started leaking a few weeks later and she was induced and born at 36 weeks, I was still 1.5cm.

At my 36 week appt I️ was 3cm and 30% effaced, 37 week appt I️ was 4 cm and 50% effaced and at my 38 week appt I️ was 4 cm and 80% effaced. I️ delivered at 39+0

I've probably been dilated my whole pregnancy ??I have had a lot of kids tho! I've been four cm for a week now with zero signs of anything else wanting to happen. I was a three before that for at least a couple of weeks. With my last I sat at 3-4 for about four weeks and she didn't come til after her due date.

I️ was 3cm at my 38 weeks appt on a Wednesday, the following weekend I️ had pre labor contractions and end up going in on Monday morning being 5cm and got admitted!

Oh man, I seriously think next pregnancy I'll ask to skip the exams. It's so cruel to think your body is making progress when it can just stay that way for weeks and weeks!! Getting our hopes up for nothing
