My daughters will be 16.5 months apart, and I don't know how to prepare my 12 month old for a little sister. Can any moms share what, if anything, you did to prepare your baby for a sibling? Or what you're currently doing?

My first 2 kids were 15 months apart.
I didn't really prepare her for it.
Just expect your oldest to be extra whiney and clingy at first.
Also when the baby was napping I made sure me and my oldest had "us" time. I wanted to make sure she still knew I was there for her and was able to still spend time with her.
When baby was awake I would have her try to "help" me with him. Not much help, but she felt included.

This will be my third time having kiddos close together and honestly when they are that little you really can't prepare them. They are just to young to understand.
Some kids react wonderfully and it doesn't even faze them, others get very upset, whiny, cliingy etc.

I had 3 under 3 for a little bit. It's tough. But DEFIENTLY get into a routine! That's going to make you stay sane and keep them in a structured sleep/nap/eat etc schedule.

My boys are 18 months apart and now the new baby will be 3 years younger than my youngest my oldest was really excited when I had his brother but sometimes I think he felt like we should return him to the hospital ??? it's just something they adjust to

My son will be 21 months or so when his sister is born. So far I got him a newborn baby doll and a toy stroller. He loves pushing stroller around. Closer to the due date I plan to start playing with the doll more - "change" diapers, "feed" etc.
I just hope he won't be traumatized when she is born ?

I've had two under two three times and am about to have three under two once these twins come. Right now, I just talk about the babies a lot and show her they are in my tummy. I got her a baby doll and show her how to be nice and gentle with a baby. I hold her baby and give it lots of attention. I did all this with my other children as well. They all transitioned to big brother and sisters very well. None were ever clingy or regressive or jealous. I prefer having them close together because I think they can roll with the punches better.
