Ugh. Week one of testing blood sugar 4x day is almost down. Only 10 more to go! We meet with the doctor today to discuss my first week worth of results. I have zero medical background, but these numbers look okay to me. What do you guys think?

I'm hoping she'll say no medication necessary! I was kind of blindsided by the Gestational Diabetes diagnosis, but I've been following the rules on what and when I can eat and it honestly hasn't been that bad. Here's hoping other mommies with GD are having similar experiences!

I am waiting for the what and when direction hopefully at tomorrow's meeting I learn more.. I have been just monitoring my meals with diabetic recipes or food ideas for the last week for peace of mind.

They look great, especially your fasting! I see no reason for meds at all, especially if you know what put you over and can adjust in the future.

Saw the doctor today and she was very pleased with my numbers. No medication necessary at this time! But baby is measuring super big... She's in the 94th percentile for both weight and head size, 64th percentile for belly size.

I have gd also have been testing since 13 weeks ? my numbers a very different (in australia) my levels have to be less the 5.0 for fasting then no greater then 7.4 lol i am on 1g of metformin now tho and got resukts from my babies growth scan which they said she is only in the 70th percentile which she was very happy about. My first baby was big tho and i didnt have gd with him!
Good luck mumma and keep going how you are (: no medication is good

I'm dying to know how doctors read these so differently?! My last pregnancy I had GD and only had to control with diet and excersise and anytime I had a reading of 120+ I would get a call saying I needed to tone it down a bit -.- needless to say, I have it again with this pregnancy so I'll begin my finger pricking next week :(

General rule of thumb.. Fasting below 90, 2 hours after meals below 120
