My babe has had one since birth.. Only suggestion my midwives gave was to put breastmilk in his eye.. Hasn't helped at all. Any advice ?

Ours literally just went away. My dr said that in her career of 25 years she has only done 5 surgeries to fix clogged ducts. That's why they say not to worry about it until a year. They almost always go away she said. Not really answering your question but knowing that made me feel better about it.

I stroked the corner of his eye downward to the outer corner per my ped. About 15 strokes every time I fed him. Cleared up within a few weeks of this

My baby had one too I was told to wipe from inner to outer only using the cloth once with sterile water, hope that helps

The Dr gave us a prescription Eye ointment.. it cleared up in less than a week

My son's was really bad and goopy until this past weekend. Then bam no goopy and it has been clear all week. I am sure everyone that looked at him thought that I was a shifty parent because his eye was always really crystal and yucky. The tissue around his eye would get irritated, sore and red if I wiped it more then after sleeping. As everyone else has said they leave it and re-evaluate at 12 months. Other then a gentle massage from the corner to the corner of the nose there is little to do for it. Side note I found breast milk only made it crustier.

I have been dealing with this also. I have to keep reassuring grandma that it's not a cold in his eye and that antibiotics are not going to do anything. Breast milk hasn't been helping. My lo had both clogged at one point. Still fighting one.

Like other ladies said, my doctor told me to massage the tear duct. Ours went away in less than a week.

This might sound weird but my MIL has a baby 7 weeks younger than my LO and both of his eyes were like that and she put tea...( a certain kind I don't know the name but she does..) on a baby wipe and wiped his eyes every time it was leaky and they both cleared up. We did the same for my LO she had it in one eye and it cleared the next day, and never came back & that was about 2 months ago.

My Dr recommended Polysporin eye drops. And massaging with warm water. It went away quickly with both combined. Good luck!
