Colicky baby .. What can help ?
Colicky baby .. What can help ?
Recently my little man (3 weeks old) has been showing signs of being colic. He becomes fussy in the evenings and is constantly screaming and squirming and moving his legs and arms. He shows signs of hunger by rooting and bobbing his head but he won't latch onto my breast or he constantly pulls off.. He's very gassy and farts constantly. He fights sleep all day (yesterday he was awake from 10am to 10pm with two short 20 minute naps) and I'm just so stressed out I don't know what to do. Is anyone else dealing with this ?

Same here. 6 weeks old tomorrow. What has worked a little for us- mylicon gas drops, the stove fan, and most of all- bouncing on an exercise ball with her. Good luck.

May want to try experimenting with diet changes. Starting with dairy. I couldn't breastfeed and have my guy on formula and starting week 4 he became increasingly fussy- all day after feedings and wouldn't nap well. I went to a Lower lactose formula and last night was already 100x better. Does he seem constipated?

I will definitely try those things. He has definitely been popping less. The last three diapers have only been pee, but yesterday he did have 3-4 poopy diapers. He scrunches his legs up quite a bit so it does seem like he's having some tummy issues :(

My daughter had colic and I have found that adding 1ml of gripe water to every bottle is helping her settle abit more! She's 5 weeks old. Hope things get better for you soon Hun it's so exhausting xxx

I've been using gripe water... It seems to be working.and I'm constantly burping him.

My baby goes through it here and there. I've found that because he gulps while nursing (I have a strong let down) I have to burp him in between nursing him. This may help you if you try it when he's trying to eat and keeps crying/fussing and pulling off. I also do exercises with his legs to help him pass the gas at other times. You can look them up online.

What kind of probiotics are you ladies using. My daughter has had problems from day one and I've thought of adding probiotics.

So I was told to get a very specific probiotic one that has at least 3 billion cfu's. The brand recommend is called baby Jarro. I have it in a powder that I mix with breast milk in a syringe and give it to him once a day. They make it in drops but I'm not sure of the cfu's so I just went with the powder. You can order it off amazon but I got it at a local health food store. I stopped giving my baby Zantac and started the probiotic and he is seriously a different child.
