I'm confused. The one that falls off the baby is the one that attaches to the placenta. One end is to baby, other end is to placenta.

The other end that stays attached to the placenta. I heard you can have someone get it from the doctor & make it into a heart or whatever you'd like.

I know you can keep your placenta (which would have the rest of the cord still attached). My nurse asked if I wanted mine. I personally wasn't interested in keeping mine.

It's a kind of weird keepsake to me, but to each their own.

Yeah. Some people have them dehydrated and put in shadow boxes etc... some people have their placenta “tree of life” stamped for a keepsake. It’s not unheard of but not for me ??‍♀️

You could also dehydrate it into pill form and take to help with breast feeding I believe. Or donating it to science is also a nice option ?

Story time lol....I keep all of my babies cords after they fall off. I had my oldest daughters cord in the candle box from her baptism and it somehow got wet and went back to exactly how it was when she was born!!! Crazy lol

I think the child is keepskae enough. I don't need an umbilical cord I have the kid with belly button.
