I can't wait to stop breastfeeding.
I can't wait to stop breastfeeding.
I admit it. I'm over breastfeeding. My baby is starting to become frustrated at the breast and refuse it sometimes cause my letdown is slow so I've been pumping more and feeding him by bottle sometimes instead of nursing. I also have to supplement some too. It's so hard to pump and work. I have to wake up a half an hour earlier to pump before work. And I'm at work now pumping in a shower room because the room I was told I can use is locked and I don't know who to ask to open it. Maybe I'm selfish but it's really starting to stress me out. I think I'm gonna stop at 6 months.

Listen there is nothing wrong with formula. I ebf and my sister in law uses formula. Our kids are the same lol in fact I think my 2 year old is sicker more often than my niece lol. When it starts to stress you out I personally don't think it is worth it. Breast feeding should be a fun bonding experience not a frustrating one! Chin up you have done a wonderful thing already!

I honestly threw the towel in a few days after 4 months. I was to the point of exclusively pumping and supplementing a lot. I was so stressed I was loosing my hair ! I finally had to sit my husband down and explain to him i couldn't do it anymore, I was in tears! The next day I got formula and transitioned him over a few days with some pumped milk I had in my freezer. I honestly enjoy baby time so much more and have been 100% calmer and less stressed. I'm a firm believer that fed and happy is best. Do what's right for you and your family and know baby will be ok on formula!

We switched to formula at around 9 weeks. Baby is thriving and I feel like I have my life (and my boobs) back! Do what makes you happy.

Nothing wrong with formula! In fact, formula is fortified with iron which breastfed babies don't get as much. So there's benefits to that! ?

Since the other ladies covered the food part, the person to ask about the room is HR.

I'm totally with you. Right when I went back to work, Brady started to refuse the breast. Since I couldn't stop feeding him a bottle, and I was already pumping multiple times a day, I decided to exclusively pump. I am so tired of all of it and decided that I am stopping in 4-6 weeks. I'm taking it one week at a time and building my stash so I can get him to 6 months. I have been supplementing as well - only a few ounces a day. Do what you need to do and what makes you comfortable. I think the guilt is inevitable, but give yourself a break. Healthy and fed is most important.

Thanks you all! I didn't ask about the room cause that was the last day I was at that building. I'm starting a new job today. I'm so nervous about the new job and then with the pumping on top of it - it just complicates things. But I'm gonna stick it out now for 6 more weeks. Gonna try to get to 6 months and not feel guilty.

I switched to the pump at 5 days because of a bunch of problems and haven't looked back. Baby will be 4 months next week and I'm about to wean because I just can't handle pumping much longer. I have to stay up to pump before sleeping, I have to get up early to pump before leaving the house.... just so over it. Seriously, don't feel bad. Lactating is not an enjoyable thing for many women and that is OK. I hate the stigma around it.

I'm right there with flvettegirl. Pumping is so time consuming and frustrating. If I can't get my supply up I'm going to quit.
