Blood clot stuck in uterus
I'm 8 wk pp and went to the dr today for continued bleeding and severe cramps and painful abdomen. Turns out I have an infection in my uterus and a large blood clot in there too. I'm on antibiotics now and I will get another ultrasound to check for the clot next week. If it's still there I'll get a d & c. Has this happened to anyone else?

I had that a few hours afterbirth but I've been ok since then. I have an appointment Friday so I'm hoping all is well. Did you have symptoms this whole time?

I've had bleeding the whole time but it hasn't been super heavy. Just getting heavier the last 2 weeks and cramping the last 2 weeks as well. I don't think the infection has been bad until the last week but not sure how long the clot has been there.

I had a huge blood clot after delivery that caused me to bleed for hours and ended up getting a blood transfusion because they didn't know where it was coming from. When they finally found it they had to "scrape" it out. It hurt so bad but i'm thankful they didn't discharge me with it. I really hope you don't have to get the d&c good luck mama!

Thank you! If the d & c will help the pain I'm having now I'll do it! I feel like I'm in labor again ?I'm glad they got your bleeding under control!

Same thing is going on with me but they think the clot is a piece of placenta still in my uterus. I'll be 6 weeks pp on Friday.

Are you getting a d & c right away? I'm having so much pain I'm miserable. Are you having pain too? My dr said she thought it was a clot but she wasn't sure.
