Indoor garden help
Alright, ladies. I need ideas! I have decided to build an indoor herb/flower garden with my kids for Easter (Ostara in our world). I would like to focus on edible and medicinal plants. I plan on using basil, mint, lavender and oregano but I'm looking for some unusual ideas as well. I want it to be colorful and useful and as easy to maintain as possible. I am the first person to admit that my thumb is not horribly green, so any and all suggestions and advice for making this succeed will be appreciated!

What about garlic and green onions? Or catnip, wheatgrass, chia.

Rosemary, thyme and and an aloe plant

Is garlic difficult to grow? I've read that it can be finicky. I like the rosemary idea! And aloe. Thank you!

What about sage? Will that grow indoors?

I'm having great success with my sage. I'm also growing chives, oregano, parsley, Rosemary, thyme, and green onions (perpetually). I accidentally and easily grew stinging nettle, and tried to keep it but it was too painful for me to care for and I eventually got rid of it.

Do you know of any flowering plants that will add some color but still be useful?

Chamomile, anise, dill, and lavender are all quite pretty when they flower. Grow what you'll use though, because even having an all shades of green garden is beautiful.

I hadn't thought about chamomile! Thank you!
