Hair help

So, I am 3 1/2 months post partum and losing my hair, which I know is totally normal. Add the stress of moving cross country, trying to find a job, house, etc. and my shower drain looks like I'm trying to stuff my own throw pillows. Unfortunately, my hair is also breaking off and is extremely brittle. I have coarse, curly hair to begin with and the extra dryness is killing me. I've tried all my normal tricks-coconut oil, Shea moisture, only washing once a week and nothing is working. I need help, ladies! What can I try next?

Are you still taking your prenatal vitamins? I still take mine and I haven't noticed much hair loss. I also take iron for anemia. Before I found out I was anemic my hair was falling out like crazy.

Dove Intense Moisture Daily shampoo /conditioner.

I use a little shampoo and a TON of conditioner. And comb it through every strand until my hair is soft/smooth. Then I wait a few minutes, then rinse.

It helps with texture, not necessarily hair loss. I second @pp vitamins and iron.

I second still taking prenatals, especially if you're nursing too. Mine didn't start falling out until about 4 months pp but when it did...oh man it was a mess!

I am still taking my prenatals, but I can definitely add some iron to the mix. I lost a ton of hair with my son pp, but I never had the breakage that I'm experiencing this time around.

When you wash your hair, do you wash just the roots or all over? I have curly hair and only ever wash the roots. I shower and condition it daily though. I've found that helps keep it healthier.

Kirb: I concentrate on the roots and I only wash once a week. I wet it and condition the ends every other day. I leave the conditioner in while I shower. I am due for a trim, but I'm afraid that I'm going to need a significant one at this point to fix the breakage.

Hmmmm I'm trying to think of what else I do hair wise to help! Jojoba oil instead of coconut oil? I use a moisturizing conditioner and a leave in conditioner?

I haven't tried jojoba oil. It's worth a shot.

I appreciate you helping!

No problem :) I find the jojoba oil to be lighter and I can just put it on like a product and leave it. I like the pureology 21 leave in conditioner too but it's a bit pricey :/

I'm willing to spend the money at this point. I'm going to look like I let my 3 year old cut my hair in a bit if I don't get it under control soon! Lol

If you use amazon, I can get you the link to the jojoba oil I buy from them.

I do! I actually need to purchase some stuff from there, so I will add the oil on!

I've been using Jamaican Black Castor Oil since the first signs of pp shedding at 3 1/2 months pp. Give it a try.

Thanks, Adams, I'll try that as well.

I have had it trimmed since my daughter was born-but it's been almost 2 months since the trim. (I normally trim it every 6 weeks) we recently moved and I haven't had time to find a new hairdresser yet.
